ChangChun, Jilin Province, China
Program dates: Two Weeks – End of June, first of July (exact dates pending)
Two teachers with two helpers will provide a two-week English Camp; building relationships with local Chinese people. Average age of students: college to adult with 20 students in the classroom. The teaching procedures will need to be heavy on the practice end. Estimated Cost: $2500.00

To teach primary school students in 4 subjects, which are English Language, Science, Culture. Culture course will teach students American songs, arts, stories, outdoor games and etc to experience American culture. Teacher Ratio: 5 teachers of English Language, 5 teachers of Culture, 5 teachers of Science. At least find one teacher for each subject. The priority of subjects from high to low is English Language, Culture, Science. To communicate with Chinese primary teachers to help understand the advantages of American teaching concepts. Yunnan Province, China
Program dates: July 18 – July 29, 2011 + travel
Program offers a unique teaching opportunity on the University level; helping Chinese English teachers improve their skills and earn in-service credit. Developing relationships create opportunities to share. Classroom size 20-25 students. Interaction with indigenous people (e.g., personal relationships with students, opportune meetings (PW). The city is a developing city with one western restaurant. Accommodations are excellent; food is Chinese, but good and plentiful. The University is a few miles from the town center, but bus and taxi are available and inexpensive. Those joining us must be team players, committed to sharing in unique ways. Since the course gives Chinese teachers university level recognition, team members should have a BS or MA or strong ESL experience. Estimated Cost: $2300.00

Criteria for all volunteers: We are looking for people with a humble servant attitude that are very flexible with very low expectations. We welcome people who have been actively involving in their community center.. Before you come, please get ready to do three minutes of personal introduction. You may share with a group of people. Be able to share in English when it is needed. You will have opportunities to do English Corner in structured or unstructured settings. Plenty of exercises, a 30 minutes walking daily is encouraged to prepare for two hours of walking each day. Leading one hour teaching in the business world. Estimated Cost $2500.00

Astana, Kazakhstan

Two week programs consists of building relationships by teaching English at the student center in Astana. The average age of students will be 17 – 21 years old but expect all ages in the classroom. There will be an average of 8 – 15 students per classroom. The weather is cold with snow. Expect to do a lot of walking, climbing stairs and riding buses. Estimated cost: $2500.00

At least one year commitment to teach English in a primary, middle and high school. Teachers must have at least a Bachlor’s Degree and be between the ages of 22 and 60 years old. Benefits: 4500 – 6500 RMB per month (according to working experience, education and actual working time. The school will provide insurance, a round trip ticket from and to the US, food and housing.

Ladakh, India
4-6 months commitment
Male Teacher, 23 – 35 years old, certified teacher with at least one years experience for a village school located in the Himalayan Mountains. This is a classroom position teaching grades 1 – 10, English pronunciation, conversation, vocabulary, and grammar. ESL certificate is needed and can be provided at Edge training in the US. There will be no costs in the village, but airfare, visa, and additional funds for personal travel will be provided by the teacher. Estimated cost: $2,500.00-$3,500.00

Female or male education majors or certified teachers, 23 – 40 years old with some teaching experience and an EFL or ESL Certification. Teaching 5 year olds to adults at the Edge English Institute Training Center in Ladakh. Adult classes would include teaching English conversation, grammar, and writing skills. Student classes include teaching accent reduction, vocabulary building, grammar, and writing skills. A stipend will be provided based on student enrollment. Funds are needed for airfare, housing, and meals. Estimated cost: $2,500.00 (2 months)

ESL Volunteers/Ice Hockey Team
Bulgaria
Program dates: Flexible – 4 days + travel
Group will play four hockey games with local teams. A second option is that a team come and instruct various levels of ice hockey in how to play the game (basically put on an ice hockey camp). During the day the team can assist with ESL classes at a local orphanage and school. Estimated Cost: $350.00 + airfare

Southern China
Program dates: Sept 1, 2010 – July 31, 2011; mid-February, 2011 or mid January 2011
Teaching positions available for volunteers willing to serve a year or more as English teachers in primary schools/kindergartens in southern China. Teaching experience is recommended but not needed.
