Great Commission Center

Our renovations continue – If your church would like to send a team to help with work at the Great Commission Center this summer, please let us know by emailing missions@metrolina.org or calling 704.375.1197. We need volunteers to help with yard work, painting, cleaning, and more. God has blessed us with a great opportunity for missions and ministry in our Great Commission Center – thanks for helping us get it ready for work!


World Changers in Charlotte

June 19 – 24th – We will have over 200 students and their leaders from across the nation here for a week of mission projects. The group will be using the Great Commission Center as their headquarters, and going out across Metrolina from Tuesday-Friday (June 20 – 23rd) undertaking multiple projects. We need churches that will help provide bag lunches for work teams that week. Teams have around 10 students and will be working four days, meaning we will need 40 bag lunches per team. Please let us know if your church, Sunday School class, women’s ministry, or other group would help us with these lunches, caring for these students as they serve with us. Email missions@metrolina.org or call 704.375.1197 to let us know. We need 12 churches to respond to this need.


Praying for Our Schools Prayer Walk

August 20 – 27, we are planning on scheduling prayer walks for local schools in our communities. More information to come as we get closer to the end of the school year and look forward to the 2017-2018 Back to School activities. Food Truck Friday Outreach

Our new location at the Great Commission Center is providing us with some amazing opportunities to connect with neighbors, build relationships, and make disciples. One of those ways is through Food Truck Fridays, that has ,this year, started a location for the weekly event next door to us! The event started in April 2016, and since then, we have blocked off our parking lot so that people getting food would have a place to sit down, visit, and eat. By putting out chairs and trash cans, we have a place to connect with these neighbors from around the city who come for food on a Friday night. So, we’re working to schedule volunteers to staff our Food Truck Friday outreach next door to the Great Commission Center!  We’re looking for volunteers and/or teams who will commit to coming on a Friday (5:30-6 pm-9:30 pm) to put out chairs, talk with folks who sit in our lot to enjoy the food, and watch for opportunities to have Gospel conversations with those who come our way. This will be going on weekly from April through the end of October. We have had a few volunteers helping us already, but we need more, and would like to start having groups come in to assist when the food trucks begin visiting again. So, please consider asking your church to take a Friday evening this upcoming season to send volunteers (2-6 or more) to be on-site at 1324 The Plaza, serving as hosts to those who come.
