When I was working hard to pastor a church in the mountains of North Carolina before moving to Charlotte, I realized when questioned by my wife on this topic that I had very few if any close friends outside our church family. That was a problem I worked hard to remedy, and thankfully in the coming years leading up to now I have gained friends whom I can trust to share life, unload burdens, and celebrate blessings.
