Metrolina Association exists to encourage and equip our family of churches to fulfill the Great Commission – making disciples as Jesus commanded. One of the ways we work with specific churches is through the process of consultation.
There are three primary ways we offer consultation services to our churches:
1. Church Health Survey: When one of our churches wants to discover the perspective their congregation has on the health of their fellowship, we work with the church to take the Church Health Survey, which is a comprehensive analysis of the life and work of the church which helps to discern strengths, weaknesses, attitudes and perceptions in the church. There are 160 questions on the survey which evaluate these areas of the church:
- Worship
- Prayer
- Ministry
- Fellowship
- Evangelism
- Discipleship
We help prepare the church to take the survey, come on-campus to administer the survey, and then bring back a written report on what was found through the study.
2. Strategic Ministry Consultation: If a church has a specific need or area of ministry that they would like to evaluate and improve, we are ready to work with the church to accomplish this project. The areas of consultation include:
- Prayer
- Discipleship
- Worship
- Facilities
- Fellowship
- Stewardship
3. Comprehensive Consultation: If a church wishes to have a complete evaluation of their situation, we are ready to work with them to do a Church Health Survey, work through the issues raised by the survey. We conduct interviews, study membership, attendance and financial data, and conduct on-site evaluations of facilities, worship services, and other ministries. This process includes a written report presented to the pastor, church leadership, and the congregation as a whole. Recommendations are made for improvements and changes, with a view toward revitalization and growth. This consultation has a significant prayer component, including at least one “Vertical Focus Weekend” when the church is led to pray individually and corporately, practicing Kingdom focused intercession and prayerwalking in their facilities and community.
These consultation services are led by Dr. Bob Lowman of MBA in partnership with staff and leaders from across the association and beyond, and are provided for the churches of our association at no charge (except for a nominal charge for the Church Health Survey forms and evaluation).
