The Edge Institute has become our go-to partner for help with ESL training. It promotes cross cultural exchange between the Americas and international locations by teaching English and instructing professionals in Western business methods. The Edge currently administers several exchange programs in various regions of the world – China, Haiti, Kazakhstan and elsewhere in the world.
“In communities all across the United States and its territories and Canada, the number of people who want and need to learn to speak English is increasing rapidly. East, west, north, and south—people who need and want to learn to speak English are our neighbors. One of the best ways to demonstrate and share God’s love with our non-English speaking neighbors is through local church-based English as a Second Language Ministries.” –Kendale Moore, National Literacy Missionary for the North American Mission Board
“In the Charlotte area, we continue to experience a dramatic increase in international residents, people moving here from around the world. Recently, one of our middle schools had 26 different nationalities represented in the student body, speaking 21 different languages. It’s true – the nations have come to our neighborhoods. It’s not a reason to be afraid, it’s a time to decide what we’re going to do about it. Jesus said we are to make disciples of all nations. Teaching ESL is a great way to accomplish that mission.” –Dr. Bob Lowman, Jr., Director/Missionary, Metrolina Baptist Association
